Nike+ iPod

I know I haven't hung out with a lot of college friends for awhile. Anyone free to hang out? I'm always in the city; I work Downtown these days.

My Nike+iPod stats. I'm a very slow runner as you can see. Old Man Albert here... =( If you get one of these things with your iPod Nano, you can track your stats (fairly accurate too!) And we can invite each other to different kinds of challenges.

I woke up at 10 this morning to get ready for church, but all I saw outside my window was a street blanketed with white snow. I never really believe the forecast anymore, and this storm proves them wrong once again. The news said that 8-12 inches will hit, but by 4pm EST, there were 24 inches of snow. I planned to stay in to catch up on tv episodes I haven't watched in weeks, but it was a morning too slow to bear because tv can no longer satisfy me. By 4pm, Kabik called me and yes, the snow finally stopped!! I made the decision to go and brave the storm minutes later because we wanted to build a snowman. Within 15 mintues, we piled up snow that looked like this:

We would continue to pile up more and more snow but we didn't know how to make the base of the snowman round since this was a first for us. Well, after a simple thought, we basically just had to pile up the snow up to the top, and at a certain point, use your finger to carve the snow on the bottom of each base. Afterwards, you have to use your hands to smooth out the snow so it looks rounder and less rigid. After an hour and a half, we finished our snowman! By that time (around 5:45), the snow was starting to turn hard. We needed to make the snowman look like a snowman, so we found tree stems to make the arms and smiley face. We also used 'lai see fongs' to make the eyes and the buttons. Finally, we used the popsicle sticks from our Almond ice cream for the nose. This is what we get:

To spice things up a bit, I wrapped my scarf around the snowman and put my hat on him too. Voila! It's now done and I am safe to say that Kabik and I have made our first snowman =).

Although this required a lot of work, Kabik and I really enjoyed this. She had some spasms on her back afterwards, but I was fine and dandy. Here are some more pictures of us with the snowman. We found some kids around the park who helped us take a picture of us together.

Everything up to this moment was perfect. But guess what...we walked away for 10 minutes and when we came back...our snowman got destroyed! It was pummeled to the ground by some kids and nothing was left of it. It took 90 minutes for us to build and 9 seconds to knock it down. Why are kids so ignorant??!

Still, I love snow now. You take the cold away and make it warm for me to play with.

Do girls take things seriously when guys make them a promise? I promised one of my co-workers, ja young, that I'd get her a toy puppy (i wouldn't mind picking a real one up in the streets either). I really wouldn't mind buying one for her if it'll make her happy...but my question is.. Do girls expect the guy to buy her something even if it's a very casual promise?
